Adding some new farmhouse style shutters to your house is a very in-expensive way to change the overall look of your house. And simple... You could probably build them yourself. Or you can have them built by us. As with everything we do, you can specify the size, style, color and species of wood you want.

Something to keep in mind if you are thinking of adding farmhouse shutters to your home:

There are a few differences between having shutters custom built and the "DIY" type of window shutters you might see on pintrest, facebook, etc.

The size, and shape of the lumber:

If you are not equipped to mill the lumber straight and into the size needed it can limit you in the overall width & the way the boards will seem together.

When building from dimensional lumber, (the type from lowes, home depot etc) you're limited on the width due to the boards only going in increments of 2 inches. Your also limited in the the selection. Getting boards that are straight can be another issue.

How they will last over time:

Having them built by us means all parts are nailed, glued & screwed between every joint. This is very important factor when it comes to the test of time. Over time the wood will expand and contract, with-out being constructed well the life span will be fairly short.
